What is Adaptive Dance?
Adaptive Dance is a form of dance where we use various styles of preferred music, modify choreography, provide visual, physical, and sensory accommodations, and also provide needs through dress rehearsals. Making sure costumes work with sensory needs, and adjusting volume and lights on stage, as well as requesting audience to withhold applause until the end are just some of the things we do. caregivers are also welcome in classes and on stage with us!
Who can join Jasmine’s Beat?
While our classes are geared for students with disabilities, invisible and visible, anyone can join! Our classes are the perfect way to release stress and accommodate sensory sensitivities.
Do dancers need any prior experience?
Dancers do not need prior experience. We have beginner level classes in most locations, unless otherwise requested through private lessons.
What should dancers wear to class?
Dancers can wear anything they feel comfortable in. Shoes, bare feet, socks (with grips for safety)! Typically, dancers have worn dance outfits like tutus or leotards. They also have typically worn leggings and t-shirts. Lots of options! Costumes can be discussed for preference.
